Dark Desert Highway, a short film noir in which I starred as lead, was officially selected to compete and be screened at the 2011 Kansas City FilmFest, April 6-10.
A trailer for the film is available in HD on youtube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YArk3oMK7YM
This 35mm short drama tells the story of Don Glenn, a traveling salesman visiting San Francisco in the 1940’s. Celebrating a big sale with drinks, debauchery, and women, Don is awoken in the night by a phone call from a mysterious lady. She says they had a great time and should meet again – immediately. Don is game for a rendezvous, but soon discovers that he’s getting much more than he bargained for, as he finds himself confused, and in trouble, on a dark desert highway.
The film was directed by Nathan Kincaid, written by Joseph Lim, and also starred Julia Heller, Thomas N. Cokenias, Raùl Ramòn Rubio, and Jim Allen Brewer.
